Question about 2 4 1 in July?

I have been reading about the 2 4 1 deals but can't find out if most of the attractions honor them in July? We want to visit the Tower of London, Westminster Cathedral, St.Paul's Cathedral, and Churchill War Rooms for the admission places. I know you can't use the Oyster card but need to ride a train and also not the tube. I have to figure out how to use a train and where to ride it. We will be staying at the Premier Inn at Blackfriars. We will be flying into LHR but going to Oxford first.

Blackfriars: round trip rail to and from Gatwick (or Luton) would count for the 2 4 1 if you are using those airports.

The Tower deal is normally good through July 14 but not after. All the rest will be fine. Exact dates will be posted later.

You don't have to use the train specifically to get to your attraction if you have a ticket such as a travel card. How long are you staying and where are you going afterwards?

If you aren't using an advance ticket, buy an off-peak one month return to London from Oxford. This won't cost a lot more than a single trip and would be valid for the 2-for-1 deals for a whole month. Then use Oyster pay-as-you-go - depaending on your travel pattern this may well work out cheaper overall.

Thank you all for your help. I will wait until closer to the time, obviously, to check to see if it is worth getting the travel card for the 241 deals. Our plans at the moment are: arrive in LHR at 12:30 noon, get to Oxford (debating bus vs train and may be cheaper to backtrack to Paddington and take the train to Oxford so I can use a round trip ticket---although can't get an Advance purchase ticket as don't know how long getting through Immigration will take. We arrive on Sunday, July 23, go to Oxford and return to London on July 27 and return home on July 31.
