Queen's Birthday

Would love to hear from anyone who was or are in London now to share stories about the celebration.
Looks like it was a brilliant display of pomp and circumstance and respect for the monarchy.

I thought the choice of colour was so when the Queen fell asleep (through sheer boredom at yet another fawning display), they could CGI an animated version of the monarch on to the 'green screen'.

God Save the Queen of Australia / Bring on the Republic (delete whichever)

Fair play to the Lady. Neon at ninety. I love it!!

Can't accuse her of being dowdy!!

Worst part of the whole coverage? The incessant parade of Z-list celebs and soon to be Z-listers on the sofas in St James' Park talking for their allotted 2 minutes with Kirstie.

I preferred seeing what was happening on the Mall or Horseguards.

No worries for The Queen as she has 5 days of Royal Ascot to look forward to starting today.

Do you mean 5 days of wet Royal Ascot?

Have a bet on the colour of The Queen's umbrella and hat.

ok - the first was yellow, the second green. So sticking with the traffic light theme, in reverse, yellow is after green, so before yellow would be red. After that it would be red and yellow, and then back to green.

So, I'll plump for red.

Love the reviews. I have a pair of Keen Sandals in that color green. Always get a comment or two when I slip them on. Thought The Queen looked lovely.

Was hoping some Yank or Canadian traveler would provide their perspective if they'd been lucky enough to see any of the festivities while visiting London.

Bueller? Bueller?

I mean no disrespect, but if you search the internet, many have pointed out the color (colour?) of green worn by the Queen is very close to the "Green Screen" technology used in movies and TV. The result being GIFs and other shenanigans of superimposing other colors, patterns, and pictures on her outfit.

I thought the Queen looked lovely, as usual. The pomp and ceremony isn't silly at all. It's time honored tradition. I have the Daily Mail app on my phone just so I can get the dozens of pictures they publish, although I can't say much for the quality of their journalism.

If you want to see " silly" watch our Hollywood celebs and porn stars like Kimmie K preening on the red carpet.
