While it's not a pub, the Giraffe there on the promenade is a pretty fair restaurant for being part of a chain.

The Crown and Cushion. Non touristy spot, at least it wasn't in 2013. Hopefully, hasn't been turned into a gastropub or wine bar. A bit of a walk from the Eye but IMHO worth it for a traditional pub atmosphere.

The King's Arms on Roupell Street, about 5 minutes walk from the Eye. Excellent atmosphere and beer, a proper pub
