Public transportation from Heathrow to Bath, UK

I'm flying into Heathrow terminal 3 on Sept. 2 and need transportation to/from Bath. Please advise. I've tried the train route but it goes to Paddinton and then to Bath. Is there a better more direct route? Perhaps bus to Reading and then train to Bath. It appears the problem is getting to the train station from Heathrow - 50 minute walk. I'm so confused. Help.

This site may help http://www.tourinaday.com/bath/heathrow-to-bath.html
It appears to be privately operated but it has clear explanations of the bus from Heathrow to Bath. Other items on the site seem up-to-date. It connects to National Express, the coach operator. I was having difficulty going straight to the NatExpress site since it didn't appear to recognize Bath. Maybe I don't know the full correct name. Anyhow, there are plenty of coach departures so you can avoid going into London.

A year ago my wife and her sister took the National Express coach from Heathrow to Bath to join the RS tour.

I just pulled up the ticket from that trip. It was NX 403 that departed "Heathrow Airport London (for T2, T3) Central Bus Stn" at 12:50 PM, and arrived at "Bath Spa, Bus Stn, Dorchester St)" at 3:00 PM. The charge for the two of them (one way) was £42.40. That was the most direct itinerary of the day, as I recall. The next bus after that one took a more roundabout route to Bath and took an hour or two longer enroute.

My wife reported that it was an easy walk from the arrival terminal to the bus station, and they caught their scheduled bus with time to spare.

The website is coach.nationalexpress.com. On the "Enter Your Journey" form, enter "HEATHROW AIRPORT LONDON (for T2 and T3)" to "BATH".

Thank you very much as this information would not come up on all the web sites I tried. You are wonderful.

For the train option do not go to Paddington at all. Take the Railair coach to Reading and on to Bath from there - it is quicker and cheaper to do this than via Paddington. More frequent than the direct coach, if the timing of this doesn't suit that of your arrival. Don't take a coach which requires a connection in Bristol onto a local bus though.
