Any recommendations for a pub near the Harold Pinter Theatre? Thanks for your advice!
Lamb and Flag; The Marquis of Salisbury; The French House.
drinks or dinner?
Dinner with a pint most likely
I second the Lamb and Flag and will add The Cross Keys to the list.
If you enjoy Guinness, try the Devonshire. It’s the best pint in London. It’s at 7 Denman Street, a 5 minute walk from the theatre. If Guiness isn’t your thing, ignore me! :-)
Volva, there you go! Guinness is my favorite! The Devonshire sounds great, for the Guinness especially lol, but I just took a look at the menu but the entree prices are a bit more than we are comfortable with. Any other more moderately priced pubs that are options?
OP: yay! :-)
They age their own beef and fly in fresh seafood from Ireland, apparently. We have not eaten there so I can only vouch for the pint. We met the publican shortly after they opened, and he was telling us all about the beef and their aging process. He sounded VERY into it. And the food gets great reviews.
The pint is seriously good.
I just edited my post above- didn’t think you’d see the first one so quickly!
My go to in the hectic Piccadilly Circus area of London is the Lyric. Small but great atmosphere. Food and Guinness are fine. Probably 15 minute stroll to the theatre.

If Guinness is your go to beer, you could consider Irish pub, Waxy O’Conners on Rupert Street. I have never eaten there but went there for a beer and to check out the interior, which includes a large tree. Something you don’t usually see in a dark pub.
Thank you! Great suggestions we can check out further to decide. I love getting recommendations from people on here that have actually been and can vouch for a place. Much appreciated!
