Perhaps my description made it sound too benign. They plan to block traffic and Occupy Waterloo Bridge, and totally disrupt traffic flow in the areas of Parlaiment Square, Marble Arch, Oxford Circus, and Piccadilly Circus.

If they really wanted to make a point it should have been done before Parliament went on their Easter holidays.
Since many of the demonstrators will be students, they probably wanted to wait until the end of term.
Or maybe it is organized around Earth Day, April 22. Is that recognized in the U.K.?

I'm rescheduling my plans this week to stay away from the infested areas and stick to the tube.
At 11 AM, Sky News reported live from Marble Arch. It didn't look that crowded. In fact they said numbers were down from the last time they marched.
Still, a handful can cause disruption. Scotland Yard said they have brought in extra officers from around the UK to help keep things moving.
