Not a private tour guide, but I took the Verger tour at Westminster Abbey and it felt like a private tour. I also recommend London Walks. Again, not private, but excellent walking tours of many, many sights. My favorite was a tour I took via boat to Greenwich and then had a walking tour all around. The Rick Steves' London or England or Great Britain tour books have the best summary of sights to see I have found in any guidebook.

Besides offering group tours, London Walks offers any of their tours as private ones. I believe they can also customize a tour as well.

Another vote for the Westminster Abbey Verger Tour and for London Walks tours in general.

We did the London Walks tour to Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London and enjoyed them both.

Definately go on the Verger Tour. I got a guide who helped the Royals at the Queen Moms funeral and had some interesting stories on how the Abbey is set up. I can imagine that the Vergers will be helping with the coronation.

And if I understand correctly the verger tour is first come first serve? cannot be pre-booked.
