Premier Inns London for a family of 4

Has anyone stayed in a premier Inn in London? We are a family of 4 with 2 boys ages 15 & 12 years old. We are looking at a variety of locations and are looking for one that has family rooms and near a tube station. We will be arriving at Liverpool Station in August. They are very budget friendly but the pictures of the rooms are hard to tell sleeping arrangements. We are staying for 4 nights and don’t want a sofa bed for the boys. Does anyone know if any of their properties have 2 bedrooms or a better setup for families? Thanks in advance. We are looking to go to most of the usual tourist things in central London as well as Duxford IWM.

The usual set up is 2 double beds but it might vary from Hotel. Similar chain is Travelodge. I've stayed at the Travelodge in Southwark, right by the tube and it has family rooms with a double and 2 singles. Not much else in terms of space but that's what you get for your money in London I'm afraid.

The typical set up is not two double beds. It's usually a king bed and an additional bed that converts into a single bed. (A few have queen or twins rather than a king.) No two bedrooms.

Some PI's have family rooms that include a king bed and two twins. The twins are designed, as their website says, for 15 and under.

I have stayed at numerouss PI's without a problem. All have been clean and quiet.

Couple reminders:

“...a king size bed from the UK is around the same size as the American queen; this may be where some of the confusion arises.”

16 is an adult in the UK so I don’t think family rooms can be used if the child is 16-17 years old, but you just make it.

I’ve stayed in many Staybridge Suites and the second bed has always been a crappy sofa bed.

You can always put the children in their own room. This appears to be a normal practice in Europe although it might make the parents uncomfortable.

If you haven’t looked at Airbnb you probably should, it can make a lot of sense for families.

We are looking at AirBNB and VRBO now.
