Hello! I had asked for recommendations for hotels in London. Several of the responses recommended the Premier Inn’s for their value, quality and location. When I went to look into booking (6/14-6/17) not a single one has availability! Their site states you can make reservations up to a year in advance, so I checked the week after I need and there is plenty available. So, I googled events in London for the month of June and one thing that stood out is Harry Styles is playing Wembly a few nights the week we are looking to go there. Is it possible that is a factor? Other hotels have availability?? I looked for an email address to send an inquiry, but all I saw was a phone number. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? So strange……
What website are you checking? I see dozens of London PIs with availability on www.premierinn.com (and also on www.premierinn.co.uk) for a check-in date of June 14 and a check-out date of June 18.
It is very difficult to get a response from Premier Inn if you send an email, and many hotels don't have a live person answering the phone, either. That's one of the ways they keep their rates so low, I guess.

We are looking to check in on the 14th and out on the 17th not 18th.
Maybe since I am using an iPad? Some sites don’t like Safari?? I will check on my pc.
I don’t think it is Safari or your iPad. I tried that website you linked on my iPad and it came up with about 40 PI’s in London with rooms available for your exact dates. Maybe try clearing history, turning the iPad off and on, and trying again.
Ok, so I went in on my pc. Selected to accept all cookies. Put in my dates. The list comes up with the price. I select the hotel and when it opens that specific location, at the top it says the property is sold out for those dates. I am super frustrated. Technology is not an issue for me. Dumbfounded!
I am wondering if the issue is that you are asking for a room for 5? I can't remember your original post exactly, but I seemed to remember that it was for a family. You may need to think about renting two rooms vs. one rooms if that is the case or looking for another hotel that has rooms for 5.
Edited to add: When I look for rooms for 4 people, I don't have any issues with getting rooms to come up for those days.
No, just a room for 2. So weird!!
Hmmm, I just went into the app and replicated what I think is your search -- two adults from June 14-17- and indeed, as I click on each individual hotel , I too get the message in red that the hotel is fully booked for those dates.
I feel better that it isn’t jut me! I guess I can call next week and see about attempting to book over the phone. It is very strange! That or I just find another hotel to go with…..
Now I am seeing the problem too. And it happens with other dates in June as well. But not in May.
Maybe try the “contact” button at the bottom of the page and ask them.
I wonder if they are holding back on June reservations until the coronation date is announced, as they will want to raise prices for that time.
But for just that one week? Well, their ‘contact’ is pretty limited. A phone call is really the only way I will be able to get a true answer. And you can only call until 5 pm, so it is too late. Look to call next week.
I see what you mean. I, too, wonder if they're holding rooms until the date of the coronation is determined.
Try Hampton Inn by Hilton Waterloo they have rooms. We stayed there several.times and it was wonderful. I agreed with others I tried Premier for May and July with rooms available but none for June. That is why I tried the Hampton. Good luck.
Harry Styles will have no effect on room availability in a city as large as London.
Try other hotels if you really need to book up so far ahead.
Find another hotel that is reasonably priced for the dates you want and book it (be sure it is fully refundable) ... keep checking for the Premier you want (and others) and if one pops up as available, you can always book that one and cancel the other ... I had the same issue months ago when I tried to book my Hub by Premier hotel ... even with 9 months in advance, it kept giving me sold out for Easter weekend (before and after were available) when other hotels I tried had plenty of open rooms ... then one day it showed as available ... no idea why, just glad they weren't truly sold out.
Yikes….. I was planning on using them in my June trip to. St. Louis Cardinals vs cubs play in around june 23.
Haven’t done any reservations yet. We wanted to make sure we got tickets first.

It could be because they haven’t decided on the room rates for next year yet.
It seems to be the PIs in central London - those a couple of miles out have availability. In the provinces, it’s not an issue. My guess is that they are holding back bookings as they anticipate a June Coronation and prices for that weekend are going to rocket.
I have had problems booking on their website many times. I've had to call them, and then I got my reservation.
I’ve had the same issues for beginning of June this past week. It’ll give me a price and say available but if you click on it it says not available.
They seem to have blanked out the whole of June, but just for central London. They are holding the rooms back or people have taken a punt on the Coronation day and have made reservations that are refundable.
Why not just book a different hotel? If this is your first trip to England you might enjoy a hotel which is located in an old British building. Premier Inns looks like any hotel that you can get in the US. This year was my sister-in-law’s first trip to the UK, I showed her several hotels Premier was one of them, there was no way she would stay in one, since it didn’t look British. We’ve already booked our rooms for next May.
Travelodge has been good, too. They had good breaksfasts too.

Some PIs, particulary those in city centres are in 'old buildings', that were not originally built as a chain hotel and been converted subsequently. Same goes for Travelodege too.
Some of the PIs are in adapted buildings, but the rooms look a lot like generic US chain hotel rooms. I use them heavily during air conditioning season and/or when I have someone splitting the cost with me. In May or September--when I think I'm unlikely to need a/c--there are probably less-expensive options, and those may have more character, but possibly also beds that aren't as comfortable, less-reliable Wi-Fi, etc.
Premier Inns may not be the most charming lodging option available, but I deeply appreciate their reliability and value for money.
I like knowing I am going to get a quality product and a good night's sleep.
My own advice on booking rooms in London, based on limited anecdotal experience: in considering rooms, be sure you see the square footage ( = space) of the room. Many value-priced rooms were really TINY, like 43 sq.ft. Booking.com is very good about including square footage in the descriptions.
