Hi, Has anyone stayed at the Premier Inn in Hampstead recently? I gather rates are cheaper than the one near Victoria station, because the location of Hampstead is not as central. Looking for feedback regarding ease of check in, and comments on service there and cleanliness. Thank you Joanne
I have only stayed at the PI St Pancras. The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Most Premier Inns are similar.
I was going to say I wouldn't recommend staying in Hampstead if you are wanting to see the major sights in London. But then I saw your request about the Cherry Court Hotel.
If you provide your hotel budget in GBPs, the type of room you need and a general idea of where you'll be going in London, then you'll get some good suggestions.
I don't know why it is less, but I'm surprised - Hampstead is a very posh neighbourhood. I had a look on the map and it isn't really Hampstead at all, it is what I would call Hampstead adjacent. It is right down the hill near Belsize Park (in Zone 2, one stop closer to central London than Hampstead on the Northern Line Edgware Branch) on Haverstock Hill.
So convenience wise it is further out than central London, only on one branch of one Underground Line, which means at least one change to go most places.
best of you share exactly what your needs, wants and desires are. Do you have any mobility issues, for example.
regarding your other specific questions - I haven't stayed there - in fact not at a London Premier Inn because I'm local and not far away, but PIs are pretty reliable for cleanliness and comfort of bed and shower. What service issues do you expect other than check in and check out, and maybe breakfast? They are all pretty much much of a muchness.
It would be nice if you have time to take advantage of being in (or near) Hampstead. Like Nigel says, it's a short walk up the hill and it's a lovely place to have a coffee, a meal or just walk around.
I have stayed at several Premier Inns, just not the one you are asking about.......
They are consistently clean and provide basic accommodations. If you are in London, then chances are it will be a place to sleep or rest, not really spending a great deal of time there. If I need to stay in a hotel, they are my go to chain.
I don't know your budget or your particular plan for visiting London, but in general, I'd look at staying a bit more central.
HI Thought of Hampstead because on my very first trip to London we stayed in Hampstead and I loved the neighborhood feel of the area and the lovely brownstones. We saw residents leaving for work in the morning, there were neighborhood shops and would love to recapture the feeling of my first trip. Even if I stay somewhere else, will visit Belsize Ct just to remember what it was like in 1971 when all of my life was before me and I was enchanted with my first stop of a 6 week trip to Europe. Aware that the Underground has only one line running there, but changing trains doesn't bother me much. The Underground map was so easy to follow especially compared to our N.Y.C. subway map. Thank you to all who have replied thus far. Joanne
good enough reason for me!!
