I know one concern people have had in the past was how to contact the hotel directly if there were last minute issues that came up. I notice that the last few stays I have had I receive an email about 30 days out from my reservation giving me the local contact information for that hotel. They list both the phone number and local email address.
I just received one today for an upcoming stay in Southampton. Woo-hoo, my trip must finally be coming close!

I have always managed to find the phone number for the specific hotel in London in the confirmation email. But now it seems to be provided more easily. I'm just concluding a trip to England with 3 different PI. All had phone numbers in my original confirmation email.
Over the last 5 years or so I have always managed to contact the London PI I usually stay at and speak with someone about any issue or concern. For example,I was meeting family at the hotel and wanted rooms close together. They graciously took care of it.
However I have had to be cognizant of the time difference and pick reasonable morning or afternoon times when staff would be more available, such as check in and check out times. Sometimes I have had to try a couple of different times if nobody answered. I also have let the phone ring for a while . I use Skype with super low international rates .

Carol, thanks so much for this information. I checked my emails from Premier Inn, and they had the local phone number and a local email. I never would have thought to look for it there. I appreciate you letting us know.
