I'm hoping to find someone who has stayed at either of these places to help me decide. They both have accessible rooms (which I need) for the three nights we want to stay in East Anglia and use somewhere as a base for sight-seeing in the area.
The Swan is much more expensive but sounds like it would be a wonderful experience staying in a 15th century building in a quaint village. The reviews are good although there are some complaints of hot and/or noisy rooms.
The Premier Inn gets good reviews and is air-conditioned and noise-proofed. It would be a totally different experience to stay there in a bigger town, but it's much cheaper and we shouldn't have to possibly be in a hot/noisy room. We would visit Lavenham one day and might have lunch there to experience the village atmosphere.
I'd be prepared to pay the much higher cost of the Swan if someone could tell me it's worth it, but wonder if I'd be better off booking the Premier Inn and saving some money.
