Pre-booking taxis

So for many of the places I want to visit, it’s necessary to pre-book taxis to and from the destination …

Example - I want to go to Hever Castle on either Friday or Saturday

Could I book a taxi for my departure to the train station when I’m at Hever (or wherever, for other days out)? When I can guess when I might be ready to leave? Or in general should I book it when I book the ride TO Hever (or some other place)

Thanks!

I prefer to book a taxi for the return trip when I am dropped off, just to be sure. It's possible that you may have a lond=g ait if you leave it to the last minute.
Once, when visiting the zoo in Cleveland OH, I thought I was going to be stuck for the night till a friendly local gave me a lift back down town.

Oh, I don’t want that to happen, lol

Thanks, Lin!

In my personal experience, as someone who doesn't drive/own a car so has taken a lot of taxis in areas with poor public transport in the UK- outside of major cities, you always need to pre book. Sometimes weeks ahead, depending on where you are going from and to. It can be annoying because it ties you into specific times, but better to be safe than stranded.

Cat, ok- definitely pre-booking, lol. It’s too late for me to pre-book weeks in advance, but hopefully a day or two should be ok

Thanks!
