Potted Panto returns Dec/Jan - Don’t Miss !

If you’re in London at the right time, Dec. 9 through Jan. 3, this is a Heads Up for a truly enjoyable Christmas Pantomime, called Potted Panto. You get Seven for the price of One, that is, seven classic storylines (Aladdin, Dick Whittington’s Cat, Sleeping Beauty, etc.) packed into a single 70 minute performance. BTW, Nigel had posted on this Travel Forum about it last year.

We saw two Pantos last year, the over-the-top spectacle at the Palladium, and the much more intimate Potted Panto at Wilton’s Music Hall on the East Side of London. Frankly, I liked Potted Panto more. I’d looked earlier to see if it was possibly returning again this year, but Wilton’s is doing The Little Match Girl for Christmas. I figured Potted Panto had run its course after two years.

Well, I received an e-mail this morning that it was now coming back to its “West End home,” at the Apollo Theatre. It was sent to “Previous Wilton’s Music Hall Bookers,”so if you attended last year, you must’ve gotten the e-mail, too. Seats now appear to run from £30 to £40. We’ll be in London in November and again in mid-January, so will just miss the Potted Panto dates in-between. Go, if you can!
