Possibility of going to Port Isaac while staying in Cornwall

We are interested in doing the South England tour next year. The tour stays in Cornwall for 3 nights (Mawgan Porth), and us being fans of Doc Martin, we would love to be able to Uber over there and do the Doc Martin tour (1.5 hours). It is only a 30 minute drive from Mawgan Porth. Has anyone tried to do this?

I didn’t do what you plan on doing but I was on a Rabbies tour that stopped at Port Isaac. Being a Doc Martin fan as well, it was so much fun to wander about and look at the different filming locations! We just had a map so we wandered around ourselves. I think we even managed to persuade the non Doc Martin fans to start watching the show after walking around with us. RS tours will usually give you an afternoon or even a whole day off referred to as “a vacation from your vacation” so if you can make this work, I say go for it!

Last July I took the South England tour. It’s one of my favorite tours.

Our guide Roy arranged for a stop at Port Isaac. It was interesting to view the exteriors that we see in Doc Martin and what the buildings are in real life. We stopped on Day 9 after Tintagel.

Word of caution: watch out for the seagulls. They swoop down to grab your ice cream out of your hand.

I doubt if you need a tour, the set is quite small and includes private property. I don’t know about Uber or a taxi to and from.

Here’s my trip report if you’re interested. It is long; also includes pre-tour London and post-tour Ireland. https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/trip-reports/london-south-of-england-ireland-trip-report

You won’t find an Uber. Book a taxi from the airport which is next to Mawgan Porth- Coastline Travel.
