Planning trip help

My trip to England is getting close and I wish to have some help planning. I will arrive to Manchester on the 30 of March from there my destination is Liverpool. I will be there for 4 days so I figure I will have plenty of time to visit and if not I will be back to it for another 3 days. While there am aiming to go to Wales, visit the city of Liverpool and visit either Lyme Hall or Chastworth House. Which one should I choose? They both look splendid and gorgeous!

I will be flying to Paris from Liverpool on the 4th arriving In Paris around 2 or 3. While there I wanna see the Eiffel tower, the Arch and the Lovre. To visit I wanna go to The Marmottan, The Dorsay and l'Orangerie' I will be in Paris for about 1.5 I was hoping to go to Giverny but that's just wishful thinking. I really have an afternoon and a full day in Paris then next morning I will be taking the Eurotrain to London on the 6th around noon.

Am planning while in London of just seeing Big Ben, The Tower Bridge, and The Arch. To visit I want to see Victoria and Albert Museum and see the Kensington/Hyde Garden. Afterwards go to the London Eye and maybe take the ferry in the Thames river. I will be in London for 2.5 days leaving on 8th back to Liverpool in the train.

I will be again in Liverpool on the 8th at night time and will be returning to the states on the 12th.

Are the Hop on Hop off buses worth it? do they have tourist packages? any chance that I can ride to Scotland to see Edinburgh Castle? I really have condensed my bucket list so you'll help will be gladly welcome. Am too much of a dreamer!

Susy

ps. if you all think this is more than I can chew you'll have seen my list before. ;0) so feel free to condensed this more. I want to have a memorable visit and not because I over exerted myself.

Not easy to reach Lyme Park or Chatsworth from Liverpool. You are spending too long in Liverpool which is limiting your ability to see other places. However, Chester is an easy day trip by train from Liverpool. www.visitchester.com

Alternatively, you could visit Chester on your way to north Wales - where I would suggest you head for Conwy (Conway).

Which Arch?

Not on a hop on hop off bus from London, or from Liverpool.

Some comments in no particular order:

Yes. The hop on hop off bus is the perfect way to begin a visit to a new city. You get to see all the major sights without having to do much walking. And will get some history of the sights on the way.

I like your plan for Paris. Those are the museums to see and the Arc de Triomphe and the walk along the Champs Elysees are well worth while. I would add the Rodin Museum if you are interested in sculpture and have the time.

In London I would skip the "arch" as none of the arches that I am familiar with have the same appeal as the AdT in Paris. My favorite London Park is St. James Park. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are bigger but not prettier.

Big Ben is about to go into hibernation for repairs so you may be one of the last to see it without scaffolding for a while. While you are in the area of the Parliament Buildings you might want to walk past 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister's home. You no longer can enter the street but you can see it from Whitehall (Street) or Horse Guards Road.

Near the Parliament Buildings is Horse Guards Parade where the Churchill War Rooms are located. It is where Churchill met with his staff to conduct Britain's actions in WWII.

If you are not visiting friends or relatives in Liverpool I would shorten your stay there.

In Liverpool I can highly recommend the Beatles Experience museum at the Albert Dock and the Magical Mystery Tour bus. The bus ticket from Magical Mystery Tour gives you free entry to the reconstructed Cavern Club, which is near where the tour ends and right around the corner from the Hard Day's Night Hotel (a good place for tea or snack from the Any Time At All menu).

You can do all of the above in a day. Liverpool has other sights as well, but I personally am not familiar with them.

While in Liverpool don't forget to Ferry Cross the Mersey.
Walk along the waterfront and see the Liver Buildings

Enjoyed my short stay there.
