Places to visit near Guildford

I'm going to be moving to Guildford due to my studies at the University of Surrey starting this autumn. I've been to the UK many times before, so I know the country pretty well. Are there any places near Guildford that would be easy to tick off? To be sure, I'll obviously be exploring so much more of the UK beyond the near surroundings, but I'm always ready for some easy trips in accordance with my school calendar. Thank you!

You are actually on the North Downs Way there, so very easy access to lovely countryside. On the main rail route down to Portsmouth and thus the Isle of Wight.
But apart from the NDW Surrey has some lovely countryside, little known to visitors.
Very easy access to Gatwick airport on the twice an hour rail route from Reading.
Thus by connection at Reading Oxford is really easy to reach, as are Bath and Bristol.
It is the start point of the Rail Air Bus to Heathrow (which folk normally use to Woking).
Nip up to Woking to change for Salisbury.
Loads of trains into London Waterloo.
Alton (for Jane Austen and the Watercress line) is under an hours bus ride away- lovely dreamy countryside.
Whatever age you are you are entitled to a 16 to 25 railcard as a student.

If you’re into horror films, you may recognise Guildford Cathedral from a scene in The Omen.

It’s an appealing modern cathedral, attractively sited on a hill.

Wisley Gardens (one of the RHS gardens) is about ten miles away and is wonderful. There's always something to see there.

Losely Park is about 3 miles away - the house is by guided tour and it is surrounded by gardens and large estate.

For something completely different there is Watt's Gallery Artist's Village - again about 3 miles from Guildford - with its Visitor Centre, craft workshops, gallery, tea room and the wonderfully different Cemetery Chapel. . (Map of the site here.)
