Places to stay in Oxford

Hi, planning a budget friendly vacation for family of 4. 2 teenagers, 2 adults. Any recommendations for clean places in or around Oxford, preferably with breakfast included?

There is a Hostel near the main road where the train tracks cross, it is clean, they have rooms for 4 people with ensuite showers and the breakfast was actually quite good. If your into saving money it is one option, I felt it was fine and your teenagers might like to be around other kids. Make sure you go to the Eagle and Child pub for a meal, this is where many famous authors use to meet weekly, Blenheim Palace is a short bus ride away and is a amazing palace and the grounds are beautiful with a hedgerow maze for the kids.

Hi. Yes, pls, when?

If your timing aligns with university breaks, try this: http://www.universityrooms.com/en/city/oxford/home.

I stayed at Wadham summer of 2014. My room had two twin beds and a bathroom (w/ toilet), desks, arm chairs, and various other pieces of dorm furniture. To be in a leafy college was just the overnight break I needed. Plus, Wadham has Shakespeare plays in the garden in summer.

There were lots of teenagers in evidence since I was there in high summer. No matter the season, I imagine your teens will like it.

We have stayed at Lakeside Guest House. It's on the main road coming into Oxford from the south. The bus straight into the town center stops very close to the guest house or it's a flat 10 minute walk straight up the road. We stayed here because they have family rooms. It should accommodate your family quite well. It was clean, comfortable, and they serve a really good breakfast. They have a very small parking area but there is a public lot right next door for a fee if I remember correctly. I felt that the price was fair and reasonable for their proximity to town and the quality of the facility!

we haven't finalized the exact dates yet since we're traveling end of July/beginning of August 2016. Probably a 2 night stay since we want to see a few sites in Oxford proper and spend some time at Blenheim. Hubby's traced his genealogy and can boast of a slender family connection to Winston Churchill. :)

Staying at one of the colleges is something I hadn't considered and I love the idea!
