My wife and I will be spending the last 4 nights of our 5 week trip to UK in London. We do not want a hotel. We used VRBO & Air BnB for most of our other stops. Very confusing in London. Would appreciate locations in city for best touring, and any recommendations on specific places. Our price range is $125.00, max.

For London your rate is very low for 2 pp. i do no think u would enjoy staying in a marginally area. How about staying at a hostel? There are many in central london.
You do not mention time of year, that will matter, as well as if it is over a weekend, but $125 is ambitious for anything within 4 miles of London center.
I have had good luck with Booking.com, it has Hostels, Apartments, Hotels of all sizes and types. I look for small places near a Underground station on a main line, I like the corridor from about Hammersmith to Earls Court, on into Victoria Station; but have also come to like the Southwark and South Bank area that can have some bargains. I would not expect luxury, just a clean quiet bed.

Ticks your boxes I think. Location is fine. Easy access to tube and close to the lovely Hyde Park.
I have stayed here. Great location. Totally separate from host. No kitchen but frig, microwave and coffee/tea making ability.
