Hello! My family of 6 will be staying in London for the first time on July 2023. Does anyone suggest any lodging options that are priced on the lower side ($300 a night too low for London?). Thank you!
Check out the Premier Inn chain.
Look at the popular County Hall location. It is
across the Thames from the Houses of Parliament and adjacent to the London Eye. You Can request adjoining rooms.
The Premier Inn Victoria is a 10 minute walk to Buckingham Palace.
There is a Premier Inn in the Kensington neighborhood. Its on W. Cromwell Rd.
EDIT: when doing research do not say Hyde Park Premier Inn when using Google maps. You’ll be directed to a PI near Hayes and Heathrow. Thats not what you want.
A family of six can mean a lot of things. How many adults? How many kids? Ages?
Premier Inns are fine but each room offers a double bed and a single bed. That means some people will be sharing a bed and you have to have two rooms. I don't know if they have connecting rooms.
Is the $300 total or per room?
Sorry. 4 adults and two kids (2 families with one kid). We are looking into one VRBO most likely for the $300 shared price. Found a couple options but just seeing what other options are out there. First timers for us.
Premier Inn would work for you.
$300 is about 250 GBP and that is little for two rooms. An apartment might be a better choice. You could do a search for managed or serviced apartments which are apartment that offer hotel like services.
Premier inns have air conditioning. Most apartments do not.
Not all Premier Inns have air conditioning. Don't assume.
I recommend the Citadines Apartment-Hotel:

They offer a 2-bedroom apartment. In the description they say "6 persons maximum", which should be perfect for your needs.:

Convenient location for sightseeing. Great location for transportation nearby; buses, tube, a train station and the riverboats just a short walk to the south.
There is a Citadines Apartment-Hotel in South Kensington at 35-A Gloucester Road, but they do not have an apartment that will house 6 people. That is why I have given you the other location.

Their one bedroom houses 2 people, but if you book 2 of those, you will go over your budget.
They have studios for less; each child would be sleeping on a sofa bed.
To me, the Trafalgar Square location is just as good as staying in the Kensington or Hyde Park area.
There are a number of inexpensive hotels north of Hyde Park, just south of Paddington Station.
