Pimlico apt stay

Have found a good residence for stay at a decent rate in Pimlico area. Has anyone experience to offer for staying in this area just west of Westminister and south of Victoria station?
Thanks

Go for it.

What are your concerns?

Have stayed in the area more than once in nearly 50 years of visits to London.

It's a great area to stay. I'd happily live there. It's genteel and quiet with some lovely houses, without the feeling that you're out of place if you're not a billionaire, unlike some other residential areas of central London. Good public transport links and it's easy to walk to Westminster, Victoria or Chelsea.

Do you know which street the accommodation is on? I can probably have a go at fielding specific questions on Pimlico if you have any.

No experience yet, but I do have accommodation booked there for June. I didn’t have any hesitation booking in this neighborhood.

Appreciate your input. Location is north end of Tachbrook street. Peaceful neighborhood setting is exactly what we seek. Thanks!

I'd recommend Pimlico to anyone. The north end up by Victoria is a little busier. It will be near the street market as mentioned by Claudia above. It's an easy walk to Buckingham Palace and Green Park from there too.

My stomping ground was more the south of Pimlico when I worked around there. My local was The Grosvenor, a decent little neighbourhood pub. They'd do lock ins for my colleagues and I when we had a late finish. I enjoyed a pint or two at The Morpeth. I'd also venture across Vauxhall Bridge to The Royal Oak, which Google is telling me is closed. I wouldn't necessarily recommend Vauxhall to tourists anyway. It's where the bears and leather boys go to party of a weekend and can be pretty wild.

Carol now retired,
I don't think Steven will mind if you want to talk about Pimlico a little more in his thread.

Intersecting street is Charlwood. Wonderful information and delighted to learn more of tidbits of experiences and traits of the neighborhoods. I need some clarification on “bears and leather” reference. 😁

Well it's been almost 30 years, but I stayed in Pimliico area for 5 days in Feb 1994 and really liked the area. It felt laid back but not gritty. And plenty of things in the area felt walkable.

Interestingly, the guidebook I used was called "Let's Go Europe" (don't see them around anymore) and it recommended a B&B called "Luna Simone Hotel" in Pimlico, and I stayed there. It was a pretty good place. Looking at a current Rick Steves England book, I noticed he recommends it as well! I guess it's held up well over the years.

Suffice to say, the gay pubs in Vauxhall are a little less "family friendly" than those you'd find in Soho, by and large. Go along to Horse Meat Disco on a Sunday night if you need further clarification!

I might post a few more sensible Pimlico personal highlights later.

I tried to post a reply with a few more cultured highlights of Pimlico but it seemed to get lost.
