Picking up an Enterprise rental car at London Heathrow WITHOUT arriving by plane

Has anyone picked up an Enterprise car at London Heathrow without arriving by plane?
We are renting a car for a couple days just prior to flying out of London Heathrow Airport, but will be arriving by the Elizabeth Line, not by plane. We are picking up on a Sunday, and the nearby non-airport locations are closed; we want to rent at/near Heathrow for the ease of return when we fly out from Heathrow. (We will return the car late the evening before flying out, and staying at the Holiday Inn by the airport). I am looking for advice on the easiest way to pick up a car when not arriving by plane. Is there a better/worse Terminal to catch the rental car shuttle, given we are arriving on the Elizabeth Line (from St. Pancreas International train station)? Should we/ can we pick up at the off-site lot?

Thank you for any advice you can offer.

Margo, I’m not sure how many specific details I can provide but we did this very thing in 2022. It was on Sunday, the Elizabeth line was not open yet so we took the Piccadilly line to Terminal 3. We had stored my husband’s golf clubs at a luggage storage place in Terminal 3, so after picking them up we followed the directions to catch the shuttle to Enterprise. It was very easy. We had a great experience with Enterprise and their customer service agents. Use google maps to guide you.

Which Holiday Inn did you have in mind at the airport?

Between having stayed in some and using some of the others as venues for meetings I can speak to many of them.

For example, the Holiday Inn Heathrow M4 jct 4 has been used for the last four years as a covid hotel and then a refugee hotel. It is not open to the public yet.

My personal favourites are the two hotels at terminal 4. They are a Holiday Inn Express and a Crowne Plaza, both of which are very good. And they have an Elizabeth line stop there at terminal 4 so you could unload your luggage and then take the car back for example.

Hi Nigel,
We’re staying at the Holiday Inn Bath Street, which was an option on our credit card points. We stayed at the M4J4 Holiday Inn several times prior to Covid. I was wondering why it was closed. This is our first return to Europe since 2019.
Thanks,
Margo

We just dropped our Enterprise rental car at a location practically across the road from the Holiday Inn on Bath Road. An Uber took us to the hotel. That Holiday Inn was not on the car rentals shuttle route.
