Hawes, Buttertubs Pass, Thwaite, Muker, Gunnerside, Leyburn. Looking for suggestions of short walks of 2 miles up to 5 miles from the car. In our 60's, good health, new knees. When younger, enjoyed road bicycle touring. Will be staying a week in Hawes or Leyburn. Photography and walks.
Hi DavidNG -
Have a look at this website to give you some clues. There’s a separate Wensleydale section that covers Hawes and Leyburn.

Should give you some pointers to kick off with! Some might be a bit longer than you’d like but might still be doable for you dependent on terrain.

I like short walks too, and will be heading to Yorkshire in April of this year. I found these two websites to be very helpful. There are a number of walks there that I am hoping to take.

Also, I recommend downloading the Yorkshire Dales National Park free app, which has maps and info on 35 scenic walks. Most are in the 1 to 3 miles range.
