We will be flying from Glasgow to Heathrow in May on British Airways. I have been told to allow time for Passport Control and Customs even on this domestic flight. Is this true?? We have tickets on the Eurostar at 13:30 and want to allow enough time to make the train without stress
Who has told you? On a domestic you just walk out on arrival (collecting bags if necessary).
Why are you not just flying all the way?
passport control & customs between Glasgow and Heathrow??? - of course not
passport control before you board the Eurostar
you're flying from Glasgow to Heathrow then travelling into London to take a train to Paris - you must like stressful journeys - good luck!
I think it is cut down on the hoards of migrant Scottish bankers flooding the City.
Scotland is still part of the UK, so no. Maybe if the vote would have gone the other way then what you were told would be true.
Thanks to all who replied. I am accompanying a friend to Scotland and the Eurostar is on his "bucket list". Thanks to all who replied
Gene, mixing a plane and a train, with all the complications of getting from Heathrow to St Pancras, doesn't sound logical.
If you want to go on the Eurostar (and it is not much different from any other High Speed train), why not take the train from Glasgow to London. Euston to St Pancras is a short distance.
Eurostar ( http://www.eurostar.com/ ) will do a through booking from Glasgow Central to Paris Gare du Nord. For Monday 9th May they are quoting fares in the range £86 to £134, depending on time of day.
Okay so why are you flying to Heathrow when the train would take you to Euston, a 10 minute walk from St Pancras?
