Trying to decide whether to do the audio guided tour of the Parliament or book a guided tour. Can anyone help me decide?
We visited Parliament just a couple of weeks ago. We went with the tour guide option, really enjoyed it, and would recommend it. Our guide was informative, funny, and very interesting. Of course, we didn't do the audio guide so cannot directly compare the two.
Either way, I hope you enjoy visiting Parliament as much as we did.
I also did the live Blue Badge guided tour. A very strong recommendation from me, the guide was excellent and we had a couple of history buffs on the tour including myself and she answered all our questions.
Tammy, in all my London visits touring Parliament is still on my bucket list. Please report back on which way you decided to go, and if the tour how many were on it and if you were satisfied after the visit. Also, let us know if House of Commons was in session and if you got to view some of the discussion. I like the convenience of an audio guide, but those Blue Badge guides are so knowledgeable. Have a wonderful trip.
Thanks folks, I’m leaning towards a live guide. These tours seem very popular so I’m going to have to be on it, to get a booking. They don’t do tours when they are in session.
@Laurie Beth- I will report back. It’s my DH’s first trip to London, but my third (but, both of my trips long ago and very short). Now, we have 11 days! Can’t wait!
Another vote for the live-guided tour. I did it a few years ago and as I recall we went into at least one area not accessible to those on the self-guided audio tour.
Going to London in early June and wanted to do a live tour but there doesn't seem to be any available. Are guided tours not offered in June?
From what I understand, guided tours are typically offered only on Saturdays (with extra days offered during school holidays or bank holidays). The June Saturdays look to be booked up already, which makes the decision easier —audio tour!!
