"Parchmarks"/crop marks showing up during excessive heat

My brother follows this guy who does videos on wild camping and bushcraft. In today's segment a friend asked him to come fly his drone over his fields as he thought with the dryness and heat some parchmarks (or crop marks) would be visible. It's just 13 minutes long but I found it quite interesting. I love that area of England!

I expect some more newly discovered parchmarks will be cropping up, lol!!

Might not be that historical but the ground of Leicestershire County Cricket Club was for a few decades a multi-sport field owned by the Council's Education Department. Now it hasn't been that for 60 years or so, but in long hot dry summers the lines of all the football pitches can mysteriously reappear.

Some of the Roman sites in Britain were found this way, from observing from overhead during a dry period.
Before drones, small planes were used to fly overhead to look for marks and lines in the dirt that indicated where walls or foundations of townhouses had been.

Prehistoric and Neolithic sites have been found in this way, too.
Both Woodhenge and Durrington Walls were discovered this way, when archaeologists in a small plane observed dots in a large circle in the area.
These dots turned out to be very old post holes (not noticeable from ground level) where upright posts had formed a large ceremonial circle.
