We'll be getting off the Eurostar around midday at Paddington Station and need to make our way to Southampton. What's the best way to connect? Thanks in advance!
Trains from Paris terminate at St Pancras not Paddington.
You’ll need to make your way to Waterloo for trains to Southampton. From St Pancras by Tube take the Victoria line southbound to Green Park then change to the Jubilee line for Waterloo.
Details about trains to Southampton can be found here: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
Green Park has some very long walks between lines - I'd take the Victoria to Oxford Circus and then the Bakerloo to Waterloo. The southbound-southbound Victoria and Bakerloo interchange at Oxford Circus is virtually cross-platform.
Sorry—St. Pancreas, not Paddington!
I give up. North to south is where we need to go.....

From the Tube map, the Northernn Line appears to connect St. Pancras with Waterloo, but it is a convoluted route. maybe one must change at Euston? Or take one of the routes mentioned above.
Or you could take the #59 bus, which is more or less north-south, but it could take awhile.

I agree with Phillip. Take the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus and then the Bakerloo line to Waterloo. Easy transfer and it should onky take about 15 minutes.
From Waterloo there is a non-change train leaving every half hour.
