Paddington to Hampton Court?

Greetings! Looking for suggestions and reviews about an efficient and economical means of getting from Notting Hill-Paddington area of London out to Hampton Court, for a day trip.

If we decide to take the tube to Richmond… Is the boat ride from Richmond to HC worthwhile? Or are we better just to take the bus from Richmond tube station to HC?

Or is the train from Waterloo the better option?

Thank you all for your input!

If it's a nice day I certainly think the boat ride is worth it.

I don't see much difference between the tube to Richmond or train from Waterloo. You could do either in opposite directions.

However you could also do the District line tube to Wimbledon and pick up the train from Waterloo there.
Probably an easier and bit faster route.

If you’re already at Notting Hill Gate, taking the District Line to Wimbledon and then the train from there is the easiest option. The alternative is to take the Bakerloo from Paddington to Waterloo and then the train. Both options will take you about an hour.
