We are driving from Oxford to this seaside resort to celebrate my birthday. I am looking for suggestions on the most scenic route and your favorite pub for lunch along the way.
I can’t say it’s the most scenic since that’s open to interpretation, but when we went from Llandudno to Stratford Upon Avon we stopped at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, walked around Shrewsbury, and spent a night in Ludlow. I don’t think we could have done anything else. On other trips we visited Chester and Ironbridge. While in Llandudno look for the Alice in Wonderland sculptures around town.
Other places one could visit include Rhuddlan Castle, Maen Achwyfan Cross, St Winefride's Well & Shrine, Valle Crucis Abbey, Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens Llangollen, The Rollright Stones, St Peter's & St Paul's Church (used in the UK’s Father Brown series), Black Country Living Museum, Jackfield Tile Museum, and Blists Hill Victorian Town. There is no shortage of things to see.
Thanks so much. This is very helpful.
