We arrive on a transatlantic ship into Southampton on August 25 and have 2 nights in Oxford booked. Our trip back to the states is September 1 out of Dublin. Besides getting to Heathrow and flying to Dublin, what are my transportation options.
Do not mind going through another country or town to get to Dublin. Was originally wanting Wales, but won't have a car.

train to Birmingham International (which calls at Banbury, Leamington Spa and Coventry) and fly from Birmingham is an option.

This was how I traveled between Dublin and Ironbridge then London back to Dublin back in 2016.
Flying is a much quicker and pleasanter experience all round, particularly as you only have a short timescale.
