My family and I will be staying in Oxford for a few days in June and our two young granddaughters are big Harry Potter fans. I've read that some of the movie scenes were filmed in Oxford, and I've also seen some ads on websites hawking various tours. Does anyone have recommendations on places what to see? Are the tours worthwhile?
If you have chance, they may enjoy the Pitt Rivers Museum which is completely unique and full of weird and wonderful things...
The dining hall in HP was fashioned after Christ Church's dining hall. If it is open, you must visit. Make sure that you also look at the tiles of the fireplace. The tile of a blond little girl was the don's daughter, Alice, who Lewis Carroll, a tutor at CC, used as an inspiration for Alice in Alice in Wonderland.
