Oxford and Blenheim Palace from Moreton by train/taxi

We leave for England in a week and have been there before. We will be spending 4 nights in Moreton-in-Marsh near the train station and are not renting a car, but have a bus tour etc. set up.

We would like to visit Blenheim Palace. In reading RS Best of England and doing some research, it looks like we can take the 9:22 train from Moreton to Oxford for an under 40 minute train ride. When we get off the train in Oxford, we can either pick up a taxi -- is there usually a taxi queue on Saturday? Or walk to the bus station and take the bus to Blenheim Palace. Does this sound accurate?

If we get a taxi at the train station, I believe we could just ask to be taken to Blenheim Palace, but not sure about the estimated cost.

Once at Blenheim Palace, is there a bus that comes thru regularly allowing us to return to Oxford and then return on the evening train to Moreton?

I have communicated with one taxi company that will pick us up in Moreton and drop us at Blenheim and return later in the day and pick us up for 160 pounds. Should we just do this and cut out all the above? Thanks much!

If you aren't intending to visit Oxford itself and it is not a Sunday, save time and money by going to Hanborough Station (one stop before Oxford) and take the 233 bus from there (twice an hour). Arriving by bus/train takes off 30% off the entrance fee.

Would could take bus 22 from Moreton-in-Marsh to Woodstock, then it’s a 10 minute walk to Blenheim Palace.

We stayed in Chipping Campden for six nights and visited several places, including Blenheim Palace and Oxford.

We used the train from Moreton-in-Marsh to go to Oxford, since we avoided finding parking in Oxford. Parking at Moreton was no problem and not expensive and our day went very weill.

For Blenheim Palace, we didn't want to hassle with changing trains, so we drove there and it was easy, with great parking at the Palace. Not renting a car, if so, you may want total the train.

We also visited Stratford Upon Avon, which was great, loved all the Shakespeare stuff.
