oxford 1 day stay location (need to decide within 3 hrs)

I am coming into Heathrow (with my 3 college kids) Sunday May 21st 7am. I plan to take the Airline Bus from Heathrow to Oxford and spend the day there and overnight there. I leave the next morning with a rent a car.

The airline bus I believe comes into Gloucester Green Bus stop in Oxford, I have 2 stays booked and I need to cancel one quickly.

Option 1) apt located in Gloucester Green Suite, Gloucester Green Oxford OX1 2BU

i can walk from the bus stop, drop off carryon, grab lunch and walk to my 2pm walking tour departing at 5 Broad St, Broad St 5, Oxford, OX1 3A (con is noisy location and 1 of us sleeps on sofa)

Option 2) Hotel Lenardo at Godstow Road, Oxford, OX2 8AL. Arrive bus stop. Take 15min taxi to location then 15 min taxi back to 5 Broad St for 2pm tour. (con is far location, pros are 2 ( 2 twin bed rooms and quiet location) ( cons are extra taxis)

The next day FWIW I would need to taxi around 10am to rent a car location at 53 West Way Botley, Oxford

What do you advise?

Sound very like a matter of personal preference, and it's really up to you to decide. But Godstow road is very far away from the centre and not a location that would be my choice for a short stay. Although you don't need to take a taxi, local buses stop close to the hotel.

The Gloucester Green location is very noisy; likely to be at its quietest on a Sunday evening but everything is relative. It is though central.

A taxi to Botley from the city centre is a long way round at present because of the closure of the Botley Road to all traffic just west of the station. You could actually walk it in about the same length of time. This journey would actually be easiest from your second location as it is out close to the ring road (plus there is a local route too).

Given that your flight could be late arriving, so you may end up challenged for time for 2pm walking tour (if it's more than 2 hours or so late) I would suggest Option 1, then you aren't using up time going to and from Option 2 when you may need that 1/2 hour or so.

Gloucester Green isn't where I would choose, but you can walk to the train station, for the car.

I don't know the other area.

i picked option 2 as wonky reviews on the apt and did not want to sleep on sofa. all set
