Ongoing road occupations in central London

While it's on nowhere near the scale of the current "gilet jaune" protests in France, it should probably be pointed out that for the last week and indefinitely into the near future, there have been wildcat blockages of roads in central London by a group called Extinction Rebellion who are demanding more aggressive government and social action against global warming. If you are intending to travel by bus and taxi you might have trouble, and I would strongly recommend using the tube for any journey that is time-critical even if you'd usually rather avoid it.

I ran into one group at the intersection of Cromwell Rd and Earl's Court Road. About 10 of them. There were more police officers than protesters. They stayed on the median and didn't cause trouble.
