GWR, LNER and Scotrail have multiple disruptions due to the effect of the storm-
On GWR all branch lines in Devon and Cornwall remain closed pending inspections of the track and infrastructure. If no issues are found each branch should reopen later in the day but keep checking with GWR before and during travel. Main line services are operating, but there is planned engineering west of St Austell anyway- the scheduled bus replacements are now able to run.
On LNER there is severe disruption today, and the advice is NOT to travel, with all tickets valid until 10 November. This follows loss of power yesterday at both ends of the route leading to train crew and stock disruption.
On Scotrail on the main lines from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Inverness and Aberdeen there are 50mph speed limits in force until at least 12 noon Saturday as a precaution- so delays and short notice cancellations.
And the Inverness to Wick/Thurso line has ongoing repairs due to wash outs after Storm Babet- bus replacements in force.
Due to the challenges of working in a remote location (between Helmsdale and Brora) there is no current date for re-opening the line.
