One last TfL question

I'm still not clear on two questions. Do you have to pre-register your credit card to use for contactless travel on the Tube? Or does it automatically track use the first time it's used? Can you use the same credit card for a family of 4 as long as each person used their own device to tap in and out? Thank you

And for the second question as long as everyone has their method of payment it doesn't matter if they are all linked back to the same card.

No, you don't have to do anything apart from wave it at the scanner

If you have one card on different devices, they will all work as each device sets up a proxy card number. I think the limit is 9 devices

As for transactions, what you will notice is an entry each time you tap in or out (at least with Google Pay) with no value assigned to it, just the station. Then overnight, a single transaction is made to charge the card. With multiple devices and the same account, it likely will show as multiple charges.

You do not mention the ages, but under 11 yrs travel free with a fare paying parent.
