The posted info on getting in and out of the country is wonderful. But what is the current environment IN COUNTRY re Covid. Are things pretty open? (Sites, theatres, acomodations?) Does one need to regularly show our US vaccine card? Similar question re Scotland and Wales.
everything's open
new measures in place from 10 Dec which you can read about here.
no idea about validity of US vaccine card
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland haven't announced their response to BoJo's second speech tonight yet.
More masking, covid passport at larger events, work from home - light.
I fully expect more shortly....
Over 50,000 new cases detected today. They are expecting tripling hospital cases in a couple of weeks...
a number of chain hotels, particularly around airports, have recently been taken over by the Government as refugee and quarantine hotels.
I've been in England for a month and haven't seen any closures. I head to Scotland on Friday and haven't heard of any closures there.
I haven't been asked to show any proof of vaccination since I got here.
Most places are open with the expectation you will behave properly (i.e wearing a face covering), besides those businesses which have succumbed to covid.
