The ability to book hotels on-line has changed the accommodations industry. But some of the sales pitches can raise eyebrows. The Competition and Markets Authority of the United Kingdom is cracking down on such methods as announcing that a huge number of other shoppers are looking at the very hotel you are considering. It hasn't stopped me getting the alarmist emails from hotels dot com and booking every Sunday.
They just go unopened straight into the virtual shredder. If I want to use them I know where the apps are. And I do use them, and HRS, regularly.
I just don't the hype. I'd hoped that this crackdown would have chilled the hype - but not yet.
