Off cruise ship in Dover on June 17 need to be in Barcelona on the 19th at 5pm

We will be doing a Barcelona, Madrid Toledo tour and as we've already spent 3 days in Barcelona 2 years ago preceded by 4 days in London we'd rather get a taste of somewhere else. I'm seriously considering taking the train from Dover Priory station to Windsor, spending 2 nights based in Windsor before heading back to Heathrow to fly to Barcelona.

Would rather have spent the 2 nights in Bath, but couldn't make it work out with the train and flight schedules.
We'd do a day trip to Bath taking the earliest train out and the latest train back. I know that both of these destinations deserve far more time, but that's what we've got.
Thoughts?

Barcelona was one of my favourite holidays, Madrid was probably my worst. Everything went fine, no problems, just Madrid didn't grab us. That trip confirmed to me that I only enjoy cities with water... river or sea... a unique quirk I'm sure.

Anyway, your dilemma.

I'd do Bath or Windsor, either would be nice, not both.

Windsor, fly from Heathrow, or Luton on Easyjet... a good chance the plane tickets will be much cheaper, but without dates, hard to be sure. A taxi from Windsor to Luton is about £65 which could easily be covered by the cheaper air fare. Luton is a great little airport, flown from there many times.

Or, go to Bath only, and fly Easyjet from Bristol Airport, save the effort of travelling back to Heathrow. The Bath to Bristol Airport taxi I'm showing £40 but I'm sure cheaper could be found locally. Never flown from Bristol. Getting from Dover to Bath is a long trip though. Around 4hrs with a couple of changes, cost is only £21 per person though.

Good luck.

Bath has a regular bus service to Bristol airport that takes around an hour. Don't travel via Bristol itself.

thanks for your suggestions, I'm now looking into flying from Bristol to BCN.

With limited flights out of Bristol you won't have many back up options should something go wrong.
I would suggest travelling from Bath to Heathrow on the evening of June 18 and staying at an airport hotel.
Take the train from Bath to Paddington (90mins) and then by Heathrow Express (30mins).
BA has 4 morning flights to Barcelona from Heathrow on June 19.
That should be sufficient insurance to make your tour start of 5pm.

Ive flown Easyjet many times and never had any problems. Heathrow is only 2hrs away if you are really stuck... But everything will be just fine i'm sure.
