Note that Heathrow Express will be caught up in tomorrow's strikes

In addition to the 7 companies in tomorrow's ASLEF (train drivers) strike, two other companies - London Northwestern and Heathrow Express will not be able to run services due to who operate the trains and the lines they operate on, even though they are not directly on strike.

Anyone know if you are entitled to a refund if you have a Heathrow express ticket for a specific day and they don't run due to a strike?

check the FAQs on the website

The Heathrow Express website reads -

Saturday 30th July 2022

No services will operate on Saturday 30th July. If you’ve booked with
us and your train has been cancelled or rescheduled, you will be
entitled to a fee-free refund if you choose not to travel, or you can
rearrange your trip without a fee.

always a good idea to check the source

Can one rent a bike?

I am sure there are bike stores in both Virginia and the West one.

Probably some of them rent bikes. Yup.

Nigel,

I just took a look at TFL’s journey planner. It shows the Elizabeth line as a viable option for Paddington to Heathrow. Any thoughts as to that would actually work? I’m here at home in the Bay Area. Just trying to offer up alternatives to those impacted.

Thanks

Rocket, at the moment the Elizabeth Line is an appropriate alternative for tomorrow, however only between Reading/Heathrow and Paddington. The rest of the main line between Paddington and Abbey Wood, via central London, will be closed all day tomorrow, not because of the strike but because of scheduled engineering work.
