Norwich to York by Train

Looking at booking advance single train tickets for September 28th late morning departure and Trainline and LNER sites show bus service is required on first part of the trip. Can anyone explain why?
Looks like bus replacement required all day Saturday and Sunday as well as beginning late Friday the 27th. Worried that if I book morning departure on 27th instead that it might later be cancelled on me. We do not want to take a bus.

Because it is a Saturday and there is rail engineering work on between Ely and Peterborough.

Anyone with a flexible ticket could, in principle, take a train from Norwich to Ely, then the replacement bus from Ely to Peterborough- but that is no faster then the 2 hour direct bus from Norwich to Peterborough, and on ad advance ticket you do not have that option.

If we leave a day early on the morning of the 27th, it appears that we can go entirely by train. Is the rail engineering work set for late Friday the 27th fixed, or could it be later modified to effect a scheduled train the late morning of the 27th?
Looking at the 10:56 a.m.- 2:32 p.m. or the 11:56 a.m. - 2:52 p.m. trains.

Engineering work is scheduled for weekends when the rail network is less busy. It’s highly unlikely to be moved forward to daytime Friday.

The 1156 is clearly the better train as that only has 27 minutes at Peterborough compared to 53 minutes on the 1056.

From Norwich both train have a final destination of Liverpool Lime Street, and from Peterborough both trains have a final destination of Edinburgh.

Given that there are no direct trains to Edinburgh that weekend due to engineering work north of Newcastle, all trains may be busy.

Note that it is cheaper to buy this journey as split tickets- Advance Norwich to Peterborough £14.30 and Advance Peterborough to York £26 on the earlier train, £29.30 on the second one.
