I had heard SO many stories of Norwegian cancelling flights and leaving travelers stranded, that when my daughter's uncle and his wife came in from London to NY this summer, I hoped for the best and didn't say anything. But on their way back NY to London, they had their flight cancelled too, and were stuck for more than 2 days (he was with a newer job and really needed to get back on time, too. I guess it worked out somehow). Flexible dates might help if someone really wants to use them.

Yikes! Thanks for sharing this information. I'm in Denver, where British Airways flies daily nonstop to/from Heathrow. Norwegian Air has been flying nonstop between DEN and Gatwick three days a week, for awhile now. I've always taken BA to London but have considered trying Norwegian because BA flies old 747s and Norwegian has those nice 787 Dreamliners. With similar fares, I'd like to try the newer aircraft because I've heard good things about it.

Now, before I book a flight on Norwegian I'll track their departures/arrivals on the airport websites to see if there are cancelled flights. With only three flights a week to start with, a cancelled flight would really cause havoc.
