I was really looking forward to a traditional Sunday roast, with cauliflower cheese and yorkshire pudding, the whole works. Sadly, although we will be in the UK for two Sundays it doesn't seem likely to happen.
The first Sunday we will be staying in Salisbury, and our reservation includes dinner and breakfast. I'm assuming it will be from a limited menu, and I see no Sunday Roast on their menu offerings. Our midday meal that day will be a picnic on top of Glastonbury Tor.
The following Sunday will be a 6 hour train ride from Edinburgh to London. There are two pubs near our hotel which offer Sunday Roast, but according to everyone here on the forum it sounds like most pubs offer it midday, not at the dinner hour. (the menus posted online at both pubs do not state what hours it is offered)
So, I am prepared to be disappointed. Sigh.
I think you have been misinformed.

What pubs are near your London accommodation?
I think in London you’ll be able to find an evening Sunday roast somewhere. It’s true that most pubs only serve it at lunch time but it’s not hard and fast and there are a lot of pubs in London.
You might be struggling to get a Sunday lunch after 2pm. When I say Sunday lunch, I think the majority of British people will associate that with a roast. Maybe others will disagree. The really popular places often sell out quite early, in my experience. I've been disappointed a couple of times in that way. Worth a try when you get to London anyway. The more touristy pubs in central London may serve later into the day.

Going off of previous threads when others have asked about having Sunday Roast. I'd love to learn that I have been misinformed!
We are near Bayswater/Notting Hill, so the pubs I found that offer it on their menu are the Kings Head Pub and the Bayswater Arms.
Sunday dinner is something you make and eat at home. No restaurant or pub will be an adequate alternative. So, you are doing fine to avoid it.
Well, as I don't live there, so have no kitchen, that's not really an option.
I personally have made it myself on a regular basis, but having never been to England I was looking forward to enjoying the tradition there.
We had a traditional Sunday roast in pubs at both lunch and dinner times when we were in England this summer. Quality ranged from quite good to pretty horrible. I'd email the pubs to see when they're serving if you really want to try one. You might be pleasantly surprised.

See if you can contact those two pubs in particular. The chances of them being able to rustle up something if they know you are coming are quite high probably.
Been to both pubs. Used stay in the Bayswater neighborhood.
Your best bet upon your arrival is to visit either or both to inquire how late they serve Sunday roasts and make a reservation!
Queen’s Arms in Kensington has wonderful food including a Sunday Roast.
It is very common these days for pubs to serve Sunday lunch through the afternoon to maybe 5 or 6pm and then to stop their food offering altogether. I'm sure that there will be places that do serve it into the evening but I might be dubious about the quality to be honest.

Probably a more accurate summation of the current temporal state of Sunday lunch in pubs than mine. Go with that.
If we go for Sunday roast we try to get to the pub, restaurant, whatever, early. If you get there later in the afternoon your choice of roast may be sold out.

That's why I don't think we will be able to do it. I can't make the train get there earlier!
There is the Harrison Pub, close to Kings Cross Station, which does Sunday Roasts to 9.30pm and gets 5* on Trip Advisor- https://harrisonbar.co.uk/sunday-roast-kings-cross/
I was actually wondering about some of the eateries at St Pancras- but this was the first thing that turned up when I googled.
Maryellen - the King’s Head and the Bayswater Arms both serve food on Sundays up to 9pm - the opening hours are hidden on their Find Us page.
They are actually both Greene King pubs. This is a large brewer and pub owner that has a national profile - if you look at their websites you will that they are almost identical. You can expect a mid range and fairly bland offering. It will probably be fine, especially for someone not used to pubs and British Sunday lunches, but really nothing special. Going there in the evening you do also run the risk of some options having run out.
We just returned from a two week trip and absolutely made sure that we got two Sunday roasts in the agenda. The one at Chequers in Bath was particularly amazing with the cheesy leeks :D
