Newsletters, websites, to score last minute deals to London, especially package deals?

We usually have to schedule vacations well in advance, and I am an extensive planner. However, I recently saw a flight/hotel package deal to London and started thinking that after DH retires in a couple of years we might be able to take advantage of something along those lines. Does anyone have any experience with something similar? Any suggestions to what newsletters or websites we might utilize to get a deal? Would like to make a trip to London in the springtime. Thought if I kept my eye out this year and next, I could get a good idea of what might be available in a couple of years from now,

Would appreciate any experiences or advice. Thanks in advance.

I utilize Scott's Cheap Flights. We are trying to travel twice a year and the annual fee has been totally worth it. They email you when there are deals to and from your chosen locations.

Absolutely! You can also follow them for free on facebook. They definitely don't post all of the deals publicly, but they do post some. I've found that having them email you good flight deals frequently can be difficult...just because it gives me terrible travel fever! LOL.

The airlines usually offer package deals that can be very good. You can subscribe at their websites.

New York Times has an excellent travel section and you can sign up for their weekly “deals” email. Some of those are pretty appealing though I’ve never done a package.

Travelzoo? Not for flights although I don't know what the US version offers but if you subscribe to the UK one you'll see plenty of discount deals for country hotel stays, often with dinner, restaurant deals etc.
