Other than the fireworks, what do you recommend for interesting ways to toast in the new year in London?

We attended a performance of the Nutcracker at Covent Garden. We purposely avoided attending the fireworks because of the scrum attached to transport back to our hotel afterwards. We could see some of them from our hotel room where we toasted in the New Year listening to music in comfort without crowds.
