I’m sure visitors to the UK are aware that there are currently a number of big fires raging.
One that might impact tourists particularly is in The New Forest. The A31 - the main east/west road through the New Forest - is closed to fires and will be closed for some days because the road will need resurfacing.
There are currently a number of fires in the Forest causing significant damage to parts of the forest and its wildlife, and all sorts of problems for locals and visitors.
This road closure doesn’t just impact the Forest as it’s an important route for anyone who is doing a south coast drive say from Portsmouth along to Dorset’s Jurassic Coast and then into Devon.
Extra traffic is now ending up on the A303 past Salisbury and Stonehenge, which is a busy east/west route at the best of times - but particularly in August.
