New faces at Horse Guards

Anyone passing by the boxes outside Horse Guards on Whitehall may notice that the soldiers on horseback are wearing a different uniform. For the next 10 days the (Canadian) Lord Strathcona's Horse regiment has the honour of stepping into the stirrups customarily filled by the Household Cavalry. This is at the invitation of the King as a gesture of his affection and support of Canada. It's only the 3rd time in history that a foreign regiment has been so honoured- all have been Canadian.
