New "Check your ETA" site for the UK

https://www.gov.uk/check-eta

If you are unsure about when your ETA expires, or you are looking for some sort of documentation in case asked by airlines, this new addition to the UK ETA site may be very helpful. The UK does insist that actual documentation is not necessary because it is tied to your passport, but there are some reports of airlines asking for it anyway......

As a reminder, an ETA is good for 2 years or when your passport expires, whichever comes first.

I applied for mine as soon as they became live so I have the earliest expiration date possible for active passports which is January 8, 2027.

Thanks for mentioning that it's valid for 2 years. For some reason I thought it was 3 years. My current one will expire in Feb. 2027, not Feb. 2028 as I had written down.

Thank you, Carol. This looks like it's a useful website. I'll go get my passport so I can check even though I know I'm good until next February.

I had been keeping a screenshot of my approval notice in the Notes Section of my phone but this website will be helpful too. Since I leave from an end-of-the-line airport sometimes the staff are not entirely correct on International Travel requirements so I like to have my ducks in a row in case there are questions. Just very easy to pull a document up and say...here, this should cover it.

Thanks Carol! I had printed my confirmation - but I, too, thought it was three years so you have reminded us, it is TWO! EES - three? Maybe confused with that And ETIAS coming, and looking at Germany's EasyPASS. OK - this is getting hard to keep track of!!!!

Thanks Carol-n-R. I was hoping there was a way to produce documentation.
