Neighborhood around H10 Hotel near Waterloo Station

We are booked into the H10 Hotel in June which is a few blocks south of Waterloo Station by St George Circus. Hotel looks nice but concerned about neighborhood. Please help with any information!

Not particularly charming, but safe is how I'd describe that area. Did hear something to make you concerned?

I find walking in the area around Waterloo station nerve-wracking with all the traffic. Also lacking in charm.

Its fine.

Lovely pub across the road. Flowers of the Forest.

Imperial War Museum is 10 minute walk.

Minutes away from either Borough or Lambeth North Underground Stations…

If you prefer exploring on foot …Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square is a 30 minute stroll.

Simply remember ONLY to cross streets at lights as it will take a bit for your mind to adjust to the reality that traffic flows the opposite of what you are used to.

Great city. So much to see and do. Free museums , galleries, theatre, historical properties, walking along the Thames River, parks and much much more.

Been visiting since ‘72. Favorite city on the planet.

Go and enjoy yourselves!

The Borough and Lambeth North Tube stations are each on only one line--fortunately, they're on different lines. it's not great to be limited to only one line at your origin, because it means you're a lot more likely to need to transfer to get where you want to go, and transfers take time. The Waterloo Station looks considerably more useful to me.

What sections of London are not safe?
I remember once in Paris a cab driver refused to take us to an area of Paris north of the city.
