Looks like a lovely exhibition. I won’t be in London until February, sigh. 2 terrific works coming in from Paris and Amsterdam too. It doesn’t mention it traveling elsewhere. Do you know anything more, Carrie?

Lyndash, From what I have been reading, I do not get the sense that this will be a traveling exhibit.

Mary, Maybe you can squeeze in a quick trip in Dec. :-)

Sara, Enjoy!!

Hello! Does anyone have October 27, 2024 two tickets to the Van Gogh exhibit that they are not going to use? I would be very interested in purchasing them - flying to London for the first time from Arizona, USA. Thank you! I’m also there on October 25, 26, 27, 28 or 29 if you have two tickets on any of those days to be able to see the exhibit.

My husband and I went on Oct. 4th. It's a fantastic exhibit, but extremely popular. There was a long queue where timed entries didn't seem to matter much. They let a certain number of people in at a time, and when the appropriate number exit, they let in more. That's how it seemed to us, at any rate. Despite these measures, it was still extremely crowded and difficult to get close to popular paintings. We thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit, especially his lesser known works, but we were also happy to get back into the main galleries where there's lots more space.

I was at the exhibit on Tuesday, Oct. 8. We had tickets for 10 am. Our strategy was to let the 10 am group go ahead of us. We stopped down at the bathrooms, took our time, and then by the time we got up to the exhibit, the group was already through the first rooms. So, we pretty much had the rooms to ourselves. We had unobstructed views of all the paintings. I agree with Sara that it was a fantastic exhibit. And so many great Van Gogh goodies in the giftshop.

@Carrie I think going at 10 am was a good idea! Our entry time was 3 pm on a Friday (gallery open til 9 pm) and it had become so crowded that entry times were not being observed, as far as we could tell. Or it may have been that everyone was there to see the exhibit because when we went out into the main galleries, they were virtually empty! What a joy to peacefully wander around, admiring my most famous paintings!

I would add that the National Gallery provides an excellent and comprehensive free guide to the Van Gogh exhibit as you enter. The audio guide really isn't necessary, in my opinion, unless one needs/prefers one.
